Welcome!

I’m Mandy, a historian with more than twenty years of experience researching and writing about monarchy. For many years, I was a royal historian and commentator as Mandy’s Royalty (and Mandy’s British Royalty in the B.C. era!) before taking a hiatus and eventually returning under the banner of Mandy On Monarchy.

My interest in royal history began after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. What started as a vague interest in the pageantry of a royal funeral soon grew into a fascination with the institution itself. I viewed Queen Elizabeth II as an extraordinary figure, a living representation of history.

Today I analyze monarchy through fascinating data points, like breaking down State Visit events by percentage. Perhaps the increase in visitors to nearby hotels during major royal ceremonies, like a coronation or wedding. It isn’t just the history, it’s the effect in the modern world. Join me today!
